Overview
Short Program description
The doctoral programme in theology and religious studies gives doctoral students knowledge and skills required for carrying out independent research as well as provides support as they enter the academic environment (advising for participation in conferences, providing opportunities for training in teaching and lecturing etc.). The doctoral programme of the UL Faculty of Theology cooperates with other universities in Germany, the United Kingdom, Estonia, as well as the Nordic countries, so that doctoral students during the period of study in the programme have the opportunity to carry out research and participate in conferences and seminars abroad, thus being enabled to start contributing independently to the scholarly discussion in the relevant fields at an international level. Program consists of theoretical courses (problem-orientated, mainly seminars), pedagogical praxis (student involvement in the academic and research work), presentation of research (conferences, meetings twice a year with the Council of Doctoral Studies), writing a Thesis (about 200 pages).
