Overview
The aim of Programming and Multimedia study programme is to prepare the IT specialists of high qualification, who are able to apply knowledge acquired in an area of mathematics and physical sciences while designing, exploiting and administrating computer systems, creating applied programmes, multimedia and/or online media products.
In the Programming and Multimedia study programme students acquire knowledge and competences, necessary for creating and testing applied programmes, creating and maintaining online networks, multimedia technology analysis, designing and creating. Multimedia technologies are used in all business, teaching, media, medicine, virtual communication and entertainment sectors.
Programme structure
General course units of studies: Professional Foreign Language (English), Professional Communication, Personal Management and Career/Communication Psychology, Basics of Law, Basics of Management and Economics and etc.
Course units of the study field: Information and Communication Technologies, Mathematics, Basics of Programming, Discreet Structures and Mathematical Logics, Computer Architecture and Operation Systems, Computer Networks and Protection of Information, Data Structures and Algorithms, Object Programming C++, Computer Statistics, Numerical methods, Java Technologies Modern Databases, Web Design and Programming, Computer Graphics and Design, Multimedia Technologies, Computer Game Programing, Programme System Engineering, Information System Engineering. Students perform three professional activity internships (training, cognitive and final internships).
Specializations. Students are suggested optional specializations:
System Programming: Software Design Technologies, Programming Visual Basic, Accounting and its Computerization.
Systems of Electronic Business: Designing Business Information Systems, E-Business Technologies and Online Marketing, Interactive Multimedia.
Elective course units (EUC): Elective course units are appointed to interdisciplinary studies or educating general competencies from the list of college elective course units.
The study evaluation: Cumulative assessment and a ten-scale assessment system are applied. In subject and module programmes, concrete evaluation structural elements are foreseen, their weight in final evaluation, the content of concrete evaluation tasks, criteria and requirements. When applying cumulative assessment the learning outcomes are evaluated by interim assignments. Studies of each subject end with an examination. Student knowledge and skills are evaluated during the exam session only then, if during semester a student satisfies the requirements and tasks of interim evaluation foreseen in the programme of a course unit. Achieved results of study programme students demonstrate while Final thesis – programming project.
Career opportunities
Graduate may work as a programmer, IT specialist, IT service administrator, project manager of product development in the field of IT. Also they can create and set up businesses which would be dedicated for the improvement, creation and application in the market of created, during their studies, innovative programs and computer games, animation, application programs and other IT products.
