Overview
The objective of the professional master’s study programme Public Relations Management is to prepare highly qualified, competent and competitive managers of public relations divisions.
The practical tasks within the study courses will be related to the real environment, which will develop analytic and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to plan strategically and define priorities, target audiences and messages addressed to them. As a result, students will be able to identify problems related to their profession and develop and implement communication programmes to solve them.
During their studies, students will work on real projects that will increase the graduates’ competitive advantage on the market.
The programme is available as full-time evening studies in Latvian or Russian. The study period is 1.5–2 years (depending on previous education).
Programme structure
The programme’s study courses will provide in-depth understanding of public relations management, as well as necessary knowledge for managers on human resource management, motivation, conflict-solving, and strategic business planning.
The programme consists of courses on building corporate image, corporate communication, marketing, performing research, organisation management, management psychology, and building media relationships, using the latest information and communication technologies, developing public relations strategies, brand communication, etc.
Career opportunities
Programme graduates can work as public relations managers, public relations division managers or public relations/integrated communication department managers in any sector of economy.
Graduates can build their own business in the field of public relations – create a public relations, event, communication or marketing communications agency. Additionally, graduates can build a business in another area and use the acquired knowledge to achieve the company’s communicative goals.
