Overview

FACULTY OF E-LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES AND HUMANITIES
The Bachelor Study Programme “Technical Translation” educates and trains translators in such fields as engineering economics, management, civil engineering, architecture, information technologies and telecommunications.
It differs from similar study programmes in the Humanities as it has an additional emphasis on mastering scientific and technical terminology, researching latest trends in applied linguistics and acquiring profound knowledge in the field of translatology.
The study programme is unique as not only linguists, but specialists in the corresponding fields of science and technology, business and law participate in the implementation of the study programme.
Knowledge of at least two languages from English, Russian, and German is required.

The value of this programme is defined by a great demand for specialists with the specified profile in the European labour market.
Translators are needed in translation bureaus, enterprises (joint ventures in particular), international projects, state and municipal establishments and other institutions where the knowledge of foreign languages, basics of engineering, creative approach to work, presentation and translation skills are necessary.
