Overview
This study program provides an opportunity to acquire in-depth competencies necessary for independent research work and its completion with original and empirically proven results. Graduates of the program can become law researchers who are focused on the European market and ready to compete internationally. Upon graduation, it is possible to work in scientific institutions as a leading researcher or to apply for the position of a docent, associate professor or professor, to become a sworn advocate, as well as to obtain the status of an expert of the Latvian Council of Science.
The doctoral program “Law Science” provides an opportunity to develop competencies as well as promote responsibility for outcomes of work in the areas of legal practice. Likewise, the study program promotes research and further education in challenging and unpredictable conditions using new approaches.
Programme structure
Within the framework of the study program it is possible to improve the ability to analyze problems in the theory of law and the history of law, to solve topical issues in the selected fields of law, to implement and develop bachelor and master study programs, as well as to develop skills in academic work and study scientific research methods.
