Overview
The professional master’s study program has no equivalents in other Latvian universities.
The professional master’s study program “Psychology” provides knowledge in actively developing module Business Psychology – one of the branches of Occupational psychology. The main characteristic of the program – its content, unique courses which provide students with present day knowledge for professional career in psychology, to develop research skills necessary to carrying out a highly competent independent research, and to train practical skills and abilities necessary for professional performance in any sphere of psychology.

During the study students are provided with advanced training module psychology of business, which includes the following courses: Business planning in psychology and marketing of psychological services, Cross-cultural communications and business communication. Course applied psychology: Decision making in business, Psychological characteristics of consumer behavior, Analysis of problem situations and methods of decision-taking.
Students who have successfully completed the study program are granted Professional master degree in occupational psychology and qualification Psychologist.
The functions of a psychologist working in the field of occupational psychology consist in analyzing a specific work environment, in assisting in the planning of positions and jobs in terms of the efficient use of equipment and resources; in the analysis of the psychosocial environment in the workplace, the prevention of risks of stress and burnout, the solution of problems of professional deformation. The psychologist provides support in the process of professional self-determination – guides individuals in choosing the profession and career of individuals based on an analysis of professionally important qualities, as well as the potential, interests and motives of the employee. Carries out the implementation of preventive measures to promote health, aimed at improving the safety and effectiveness of workers.
Career opportunities
After graduating from a magistracy, it becomes possible to continue studies in doctoral studies in the direction of “Psychology” both in Latvia and in European universities, as well as independently work in various organizations.
