The approach is based on the principle of interdisciplinarity, including the necessary theoretical resources of psychology and philosophy, in accordance with the European tradition of education of existential psychologists and psychotherapists. The program is characterized by a well-balanced combination of theoretical, practical, and research components in the educational process.
The program involves close academic cooperation between Belarusian philosophers and psychologists and Lithuanian colleagues united around the Institute of Humanistic and Existential Psychology (Birštonas) and the Center of Existential Therapy (Vilnius). Another important partner in the region is the East European Association for Existential Therapy (also registered in Lithuania). Involvement of well-known Western specialists opens up broad perspectives for international cooperation with a wide range of academic institutions in Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Austria, and the United States.
