Overview
The aim of the programme is to provide such professional studies that are based on the theoretical background of information technologies, confirm with the professional standards and are practically applicable, which will foster the national competiveness in the information technology branch in the changing social-economic circumstances and labour market.
Tasks of the study programme:
To provide theoretical knowledges and practical skills for carrying out duties and tasks corresponding to the profession standard and level of qualification: coding, software project planning, software maintenance, implementation and testing, preparation of user documentation.
To develop common skills in the branch: apply IT branch standarts; use IT terminology in English and Latvian; use operation systems; apply text and graphics editors etc. office aplications; participate in project management.
To develop special abilities in the branch: write and debug software codes; apply projection shemes and diagrams; make data protection and security events; analyze software code; implement user interfaces; use data request languages; measure software performance; use the good programming style; use software testing techniques; make system design.
To develop general skills in the profession: communication skills; skill to work in the team (group); skill to work independently; prepare presentation materiāls and events and conduct them; be persuasive and support one’s opinion; create business documentation; observe the principles of professional ethics; be able to communicate in Latvian and English.
