Overview
The objective of Social Work study programme is to prepare high qualified social workers who can initiate social change in society, enable people to improve their own social responsibility and public institutions social responsibility, while helping for society to achieve goals, such as civic participation, welfare development and assuring the human right
Programme structure
Distinctiveness of the study program of social work The study program complies with international directives and documents regulating higher education. The aim of the program and the study results are closely related to the social issues of the country, national and international documents regulating the profession of a social worker.
Emphasis is placed on study flexibility, forms of studies that promote students’ independence and responsibility, which create preconditions not only for mobility during studies, but also for better preparation for professional activities.
Career opportunities
Students of Social Work study program who have gained professional bachelor’s degree will be able to work:
In institutions of social security: local care and welfare offices, social services departments, social care homes, day care centres, rehabilitation centres, hostels, child protection services;
In institutions of health security: the different types of hospitals, centres of the drug, mental health centres, nursing homes, primary health care and so on;
In education institutions: general education schools;
In law security institutions: juvenile services, resocialization centres, prisons also non-governmental organizations.
