LEGAL KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE FOR FASHION
7TH EDITIONManaging Fashion & Luxury companies requires a deep understanding of the legal framework that is characterizing the core internal processes of the companies, as well as the relations with clients and other external parties. Thanks to the participation of both academics and industry insiders, the “Fashion Law” course will focus on the introduction of the main fashion business models and the processes of collection and product development, in order to concentrate on the key industry-based legal issues from a practical point of view:- brand protection and different typologies of trademarks’ protection, as well as other intellectual property rights that can be used to protect fashion creations and models;- fashion negotiation and specific agreements for the industry;- supply chain issues: from advertising to the digital fashion processes;- the “made in” discipline, the crime issues such as brands and products counterfeiting and fashion forgery. The course will be constantly carried out with practical cases (litigations, contacts, benchmarks and simulations with managers and lawyers of the fashion industry) and concluded with final mock trials. The setting is Milan, the Italian and European fashion capital, combining together fashion companies and legal offices supporting the industry.
The didactic model proposed in the courses of Milano Fashion Institute is innovative: not only in-class lectures, but also case studies and best practices, project works and laboratory activities.
The course includes the attendance by person of all the didactic activities. In addition, it is provided the optional possibility of remote-participation via distance-learning, upon request.
In case of distance-learning, the attendance of the Participant will be verified for each session, and curricular exams will be carried out by distance under supervision, in order to meet the requirements for obtaining the Certificate.
Each course is suitable for undergraduates, young graduates, professionals and young managers who wish to deepen the most characteristic themes of the Fashion System and find targeted and solid career opportunities in this sector.
