Overview
Digitization, which is progressing at breakneck speed, and the associated constant process optimization and automation in all sectors and business areas are increasing the demands on employees in IT management. Graduates of this master’s program are sought-after specialists who are in particularly high demand both in companies and in public institutions.
This master’s program is characterized by the teaching of technical and methodical skills from both the IT and business administration sectors. As an IT manager, you work in the area between operational company management and the IT department, so knowledge of the complex interrelationships between the departments and their specific IT requirements is essential. In this course you will acquire the specialist knowledge to plan, control and monitor IT projects and IT-supported business processes. You will get to know new trends such as machine learning, IOT (Internet of Things) and artificial intelligence. You support entrepreneurial value creation as a strategic supplier of IT-based products and services and accompany digital transformation processes as well as central cross-sectional functions.
You will acquire knowledge of operational application systems as well as knowledge and information management. You will also deal with IT risks such as cybercrime, targeted risk prevention and data protection in the company. As part of project work such as “IT project management & software engineering”, you will train to apply the interdisciplinary knowledge you have acquired in practice and to implement and manage IT projects that support management in strategic decision-making and optimize internal processes.
The skills acquired enable the students to take on responsible specialist and management tasks at the interface between IT and corporate management, e.g. as IT project and process manager or knowledge and information manager.
