The programme is challenged by the educational paradigm shift which is taking hold in many countries which have obtained their political independence after 1991. New economic reality with the dominating market relations challenges new targets of education and consequently new educational settings at tertiary institutions in the Knowledge society. The tertiary educational institutions are being redirected from an institution of lecturing and instruction with dominating normative pedagogy to an institution of learning which provides the learners freedom to learn. The paradigm shift changes teaching and learning, assessment and planning, communication and cooperation, mutual relations and attitudes of all who are involved in the educational process.

Career opportunities

The programme is students’ workplace orientated, not career oriented. The programme provides opportunities to create an interdisciplinary system of knowledge, skills and generic, general, and integrated social-pedagogical, psychological and special pedagogical competences to improve own professional workplace or/and to create new workplaces in the field of educational research on pedagogical treatment of diversity, working as: entrepreneurs; architect; voluntary worker in social projects; college teachers; higher school lectors; in the army; governmental and non-governmental college manager; project manager; special education methodologist; non-government institutions staff – member; camp manager; consulter in educational treatment of diversity; methodological centre managers in area of educational treatment to diversity etc.
