Upon completion of this program, the graduate receives a professional bachelor’s degree in health sciences and a qualification as a dental technician .

Individuals who have successfully completed the Dental Technology study program acquire competencies sufficient to perform complex work independently, to make the right decisions in the following areas of activity:
manufacture of dentures, jaws and facial prostheses, orthodontic appliances and splints;
organization and professional development of the dental technician laboratory.
Programme structure
Knowledge and its application
1.1. Knows the legal acts regulating the activities of an oral care specialist, normative documents regulating the workplace, environment and safe work, national and international health care policy, principles of professional ethics, is able to analyze and apply them in practice.
1.2. Ability to integrate the knowledge of biomedical sciences that form an understanding of human growth, development and health in the professional activities of dental technicians.
Research
skills 2.1. Ability to conduct applied research focused on the practice of dental technicians, following the principles of research ethics, and apply the obtained results in professional activities, ensuring the quality of evidence-based activities.
Special skills
3.1 Ability to ensure infection control and safety requirements for equipment and materials in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents.
3.2 Able to recognize pathological changes in the mouth and occlusal anomalies.
3.3. Ability to work with equipment, devices, instruments and materials used in the manufacture of dentures, jaws and facial prostheses, orthodontic appliances and splints as intended.
3.4. Ability to model and construct dentures, jaws and facial prostheses, orthodontic devices and splints of various constructions, applying appropriate technologies for their production, in cooperation with a dentist to discuss their design and color suitability for a particular patient.
3.5. Ability to identify and correct inaccuracies or deficiencies in dentures, jaws and facial prostheses, orthodontic devices and splints, selecting the necessary materials, tools and equipment to eliminate these deficiencies.
3.6. Ability to recognize life-threatening conditions and respond appropriately to them, to provide first aid in acute conditions.
3.7. Ability to plan, coordinate and control the organizational processes of the dental laboratory (activity registration, coordination, management of business and medical documentation, advertising, provision of tools, etc.), using modern information technologies.
Social skills
4.1. Ability to communicate and collaborate in team activities in the provision of oral care services; communicates in a professional environment in Lithuanian and a foreign language.
4.2. Ability to create new ideas in the practical activities of a dental technician, to adapt to new situations, strengthening the image of the profession.
Personal abilities
5.1. Ability to critically evaluate one’s professional practice, solve problems independently, make decisions and evaluate their impact, and act in a defined situation, developing appropriate character traits for the profession.
5.2. Ability to collect and systematize information, use modern technologies and information systems in the practice of dental technicians, handle confidential information properly.

Graduates of the study program work in both the private and public sectors. The employment rate according to the acquired qualification reaches ~ 70%.
