Overview
Clean water and a sustainable environment are top priorities for today and tomorrow. As public concerns about the environment and climate change increase, the demand for environmentally friendly technologies is increasing. The study program “Water and Land Engineering” provides information on modern environmental engineering science theories, methods and advanced technologies, phenomena occurring in living nature, the quality of the environment, sustainable land and water resources and environmental issues, innovative technical and technological solutions in various fields of cultural landscape formation, land and water management.
Programme specializations: Aquaculture Engineering and Water Resources Engineering
Upon the completion of the study programme, graduates will be able to:
- analyse the phenomena occurring in living environment,
- evaluate interactions between water surrounding environment and water quality,
- select the appropriate modern methods and technologies that allow to achieve sustainable development of water resources and solve environmental problems,
- practically realize technological solutions in various fields of water resources management,
- apply knowledge about the behaviour of living organisms in water environment, wastewater treatment, sustainability concepts of economic development, international and national water laws.

Water Resources Management, Ecohydraulics, Hydrogeology, Water Supply, Hydro energy, Waste Water Treatment, Ecohydrology, Engineering Hydrology, River Hydraulic Structures, Costal Engineering Structures, Irrigation and Drainage, Geographic Information System of Water Resources, Aquaculture Basics, Construction Materials, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Law, Flood risk and Prevention, Transport of Pollutants in Water, Restoration of Disturbed Water Ecosystems.
WHERE CAN YOU DO AN INTERNSHIP?
Professional internships carried out in companies with the most recent production facilities and technologies in Lithuania and abroad. Students will acquire practical skills working with the water and environmental engineering design institutions, environment protection agencies, civil engineering companies as well as administrative institutions.
EXCHANGE PERIOD ABROAD
Students, who are willing to study in other European universities, have possibility to select exchange studies or traineeship abroad for one semester at 90 European universities (ex. Vienna University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Ghent University, Czech University of Life Sciences, Hohenheim University, Technical University of Munich, Athens Agricultural University, Padova University, Palermo University, Lasalle Beauvais Polytechnic Institute, Valencia Technical University, University of Algarve, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Akdeniz University, etc.) getting the monthly scholarship.

The graduates of study program will be able to work:
- design – engineering work – for water engineering: in the design, construction, maintenance and management of hydraulic structures, in water supply and sewage disposal and waste management institutions, – companies preparing land use planning and land management projects, carrying out cadastral surveys of land and buildings, land mapping, preparation of land plans, landscape architecture, land market research and real estate valuation,
- public and private fisheries and aquaculture enterprises,
- environmental management, design and maintenance companies, municipal administrations, regional environmental departments;
- consulting work in consulting companies, services, municipal administrations.
