Liepaja University (LiepU)
The Liepa University was founded in 1954 on the basis of teacher training college. Its initial name was - Liepa teacher training college. During the whole time of existence, the name of university changed. On July 16, 2008 the Liyepaysky Academy of Pedagogical sciences was renamed into Liyepaysky University.
Throughout all time of existence the university offers the programs connected with the exact sciences along with pedagogical programs which were open in 1990. The university is a symbol of education, science and culture of Liyepaysky and Kurzemsky area. It provides competitive, world-wide recognized experts. Now at university more than 2600 students are trained and the teaching structure consists of 124 people, of them more than 53% of the doctor of science and 27 professors.
The university provides the hostel for students. Usually students accommodate in rooms (where there live 2-3 persons) with a common kitchen, a shower and a toilet. To the hostel all sleeping and kitchen accessories are provided.
The rent from 1 student a month makes 42,69 euros (if in the room there live more than 2 people), 59,76 euros (2 persons) and 112,41 (1 person). In the hostel there is free Wifi, refrigerators installed in each room and a laundry.
