Short Program description

Doctoral study programme of Management Science covers such segments as Public Administration and Business Administration

After graduation of the doctoral programme and presentation of the doctoral thesis, the Promotion Council grants doctoral students a Doctor’s degree in Management science ( Admin.). Graduates of doctoral study programme of Management Science should be able to work as scientists in research institutions, as lecturers at universities, employed in state authorities or act as leading experts in EU labour market on corresponding positions. The degree is intended to be fully internationally comparable, allowing graduates to participate and contribute to national and international debates on academic issues.

The goal of the Doctoral Programme of Management Science is to train highly qualified specialists and to provide the opportunity for the doctoral students to acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills, that are necessary for carrying out independent research work thus accomplishing original and proved results in the field of management science as well as confirming internationally comparable competence in carrying out the research work, organisation and management of it. The Doctor’s degree in Management Science is awarded in two sub-branches: Business Administration or Public Administration.

The program in Management has 2 sub-fields: Public Administration and Business Management (with a particular module “Global Management and Leadership”, taught in English). The doctoral studies consist of theoretical courses, research work, publications, presentations in the conferences and academic work. Tasks of the programme:

- Training of highly qualified specialists in the field of Management;

- Significant scientific discoveries in Public Administration and Business Administration ;

- Development of theoretically and practically important theses, monographs, textbooks and resources, as well as scientific publications;

- The promotion of research results at international conferences and seminars, as well as popular science events. The main study courses are: Recent Research Methods in Management and Economic Sciences; New Information Technologies, Data Processing and Presentation; Personal management problem; Project management actual problem; Reforms of the State Administration and Management; Business activities problem. Starting from year 2010 the doctoral programme integrates a module „Global management and leadership” for foreign students (there are more than 70 students). With a successful graduation students will be able to show that they are familiar with and understand the most important scientific theories and concepts, research methodology and contemporary research methods in the field of Management and in the area of their doctoral study topics. They will be able to engage in independent and critical analysis, synthesis and evaluation in dealing with important research or innovation tasks.
