Overview

Market and labour/employment trends show that there is still high demand for the finance and accounting specialists, and preparation of such specialists is the main
aim of the Programme. Merging companies, establishment of new business systems and implementation of new financial management instruments determine the increasing
demand for highly qualified financial managers well aware of the new financial management theories and models and capable of applying them in business
and public organisations financial management in a constantly changing environment and where information is limited. In view of this theoretical and the applied research
is necessary in order to develop and implement financial management innovations not only in the fields of agriculture and rural development but also to other
related economic areas.
The Programme is authentic and unique among other accounting or finance master’s study programmes pursued by other Lithuanian universities. The Programme:
– provides special knowledge in the study field of finance and accounting, develops a systematic approach toward relevance of accounting in consolidating and
using financial information for the financial management in business and public organisations. In other Lithuanian universities students acquire knowledge either
in the field of accounting and audit or finance, or in the study fields of finance and banking;
– is aimed to prepare highly qualified financial managers, analysts and consultants who are well aware of the opportunities and restrictions of practical application
of theories and financial management models, and are able to solve problems related to management of financial resources. Being well informed on the
behaviour of financial markets and financial institutions, they can effectively apply financial management instruments, and develop/implement financial management
innovations in business and public organisations;
– is aimed to prepare master’s degree students to continue studies in the third study cycle or ready for practical work.

The graduates have been successfully pursuing their professional career in business enterprises (agricultural, food/fibre chain business and serving infrastructure companies

high demand for the Programme graduates in the private agricultural business consultancy companies. This demand was evidenced by active participation of employers’
