Main implementation challenges of the National Energy Strategy are resources of renewable energy increase to at least 20% in the primary energy balance of the country in 2025 (Official Gazette, 2007-01-26, no. 11-430)). Renewable energy is characterized by a very wide scale of production volumes and capacities. Using this energy field it is possible to engage high-energy companies and energy consumers themselves seeking make cheaper energy, fuel or fuel from local raw materials.
Therefore, knowledge of renewable energy are required for specialists of companies, which may manufacture, design, construct, build and operate with equipment. In opinion of external assessment of international group experts of study quality, Lithuanian University of Agriculture, using its experience and resources, has a unique potential to develop scientific researches and education of renewable energy. Lithuanian University of Agriculture is prepared to carry out second cycle studies of renewable energy, because researches carried out by several groups of scientists in this area; scientific laboratories are created and updated by Science, Studies and Business Centre (Valley) “Nemunas”, where students and graduates will be able to carry out their researches.
Graduates of this study programme are able to work:
- heads of projects, departments or companies,
- constructors and designers of renewable energy plants, in companies of building and servicing, energetic systems;
- experts, consultants in public administration institutions and energetic audit and consulting companies;
- researchers and lecturers in science and education institutions;
- independent entrepreneurs.
Graduates will be prepared to study in doctoral studies in the field of technology sciences.
