Resumen
The Middle School program at Léman offers academically enriching and demanding classes to bolster critical thinking and problem-solving. Courses are delivered in a departmental structure, where subject matter experts lead instruction across a range of disciplines. Students have opportunities to reach beyond the school walls through cultural and travel learning experiences, building increased independence and a sense of community.
In Middle School, we help students lay the foundation for evaluating sources and information to make educated choices and acquire the building blocks they need to achieve success in future academics and life. We teach life skills such as strong communication, leadership, time management, and ownership of learning, which become part of students’ tool belts for high school and university.
Estructura del curso
Advisory provides a consistent small-group setting that fosters students’ academic and personal growth. Middle School Advisory emphasizes six character-centered pillars, including respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Advisory groups support each other in developing personal goals, as well as celebrating accomplishments, within and outside of school.
In Middle School, students build on bonds with long-time classmates as well as expand their peer groups with friends new to Léman. Students benefit from the leadership of High School students, also located at the Morris Street campus, in cross-curricular activities that foster a sense of belonging and reinforce our one-school mission. Annually, Middle School students travel to the Global Games, an Olympic-style athletic competition that brings together thousands of students from our sister schools to celebrate sportsmanship and school pride.
