Conditions d'admission

Licence (ou plus) Bachelor in Humanities (philology, linguistics, literature, culture) or an equivalent qualification obtained at the institutions of Higher Education or Bachelor in Humanities (other study fields) or in Social Sciences provided that the curriculum included at least 15 ECTS of compulsory or elective subjects in linguistics, literature or culture. Applicants must upload education documents in original language, as well as translations into English. Diplomas and transcripts issued outside EU must be legalized with a legalization stamp or Apostille. Vous devrez apporter vos certifications/diplômes lorsque vous vous rendrez à l’université.

Aperçu

The second-cycle English Studies Programme is unique in the Baltic States. It covers three aspects of study: literatures written in the English language, English linguistics and culture of English-speaking countries, mainly, the United Kingdom and USA. The three components are interrelated; however, students are provided with an array of optional courses, which help them narrow down their area of study to one aspect, if they are inclined to do so.
The basic aim of the programme is to develop students’ critical and independent thinking and to improve decision making abilities, rather than to provide them with knowledge in the subjects studied.

The programme prepares graduates for an academic career (research in linguistics, literary and cultural studies), for a career in education (as teachers or lecturers, teaching or educational administration) and in publishing, translation agencies.
