Overview

The University of Latvia with its 15,000 students, 13 faculties and more than 20 research institutes is one of the largest comprehensive and leading research universities in the Baltic States. The University offers more than 130 state-accredited academic and professional study programmes. At University of Latvia, research is conducted in over 50 research fields which represent four main areas of inquiry: the humanities, sciences, social sciences, and education sciences. The University of Latvia pays great attention to the development of international collaboration. At present the University of Latvia has signed more than 500 agreements with 326 institutions in 31 European countries within ERASMUS programme.

Accommodation

The Latvian University offers to the students the hostel "Prima", which located in the 9th floor building reconstructed in 2006. Size of the room is 10x12 m ₂ or 15x17 m ₂, the price depend on quantity living in one room. Shower and a toilet the general on 1 block.

The hostel of "Prima" offers 4 types of rooms:

    Triple room (100 euros a month from the person)
    Double room (130 euros a month from the person, 11 m ₂)
    Double room (150 euros a month from the person, 18 m ₂)
    Single room (270 euros a month from the person)

To the hostel also there is a possibility of short-term housing, for up to 1 month.

    Single room of 15 euros in a night
    Double room of 10 euros in a night
    Any empty seat of 7 euros in a night
