Overview

To provide education in English Philology complying with the European standards. The BA degree in English Philology holder acquires systematic knowledge in the modern English language, is able to analyze and translate English language facts and texts, has oral and writing skills, as well as humanitarian methodological – linguistic, literary, and interdisciplinary – competencies. English Philology study programme aims at training English Philology specialists of broad profile who are capable of effectively applying the acquired English Philology knowledge and English language competencies in Lithuanian and international intercourse such as translation, consulting and recreation. The undergraduates can compete within the market of technologies and services. The purpose is to form an active personality, continuing in life-long study. During the study process students acquire competencies of critical and constructive reasoning, problem solving, and managing altering situations independently. They master communication capacity and competence of understanding inter-cultural ambience, and working in it. English philologists study compulsory and optional general education disciplines, basic study and special education disciplines. The study programme is completed with the defence of the Bachelor’s Degree Paper. Undergraduates are awarded English Philology BA degree.
